What is the difference between credits, CEUs and PDUs?

Outside approval, certification and licensing agencies make various references to the credits a participant may earn for attending our courses. Each participant is responsible for knowing their “why”:

• Why I am I taking a given course?
• Have I read the course description to make sure it meets my needs?
• Does it meet my outside requirements?

Some external agencies require specific language and terminology for the credits. With all of that said, for Essential CEU Institute’s purposes, course credits, Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Personal Development Units (PDUs) are essentially the same. They are simply defined as the number of credit hours the participant receives for completing a given course.
